Each month we bring you a curated list of the Top Things to Do & Know in Boca Raton. July keeps the action going with Plastic Free July, Parks and Recreation Month, a Fabulous Fourth celebration with a spectacular fireworks show, and so much more!

1. Fabulous Fourth, July 4

Fill your Independence Day with fireworks and fun with the City's Fabulous Fourth Celebration on Thursday, July 4 at Countess de Hoernle Park / Spanish River Athletic Facility (1000 NW Spanish River Blvd) starting at 6:30pm with a spectacular fireworks show beginning at 9pm.

This free event will feature free rides and activities for children, and a wide array of food options for purchase. The Adam Jason Band will begin playing a variety of music at 6:30pm, from classic rock to today's hits. 2. Summer in the City, July and August

Summer in the City at Mizner Park Amphitheater continues all summer long with a great lineup of free music, game nights, yoga, ticketed concerts and more!

3. Parks and Recreation Month

As part of July's Parks and Recreation Month, the City of Boca Raton Recreation Services and Greater Boca Raton Beach and Park District invites you to celebrate the opening of the NEW Swim & Racquet Center (21618 St Andrews Blvd) on July 20. Kick off the day with a Ribbon Cutting Ceremony at 9:30am, and then have some fun at a FREE Open House event at 10am-2pm, featuring activities and demos, music, food trucks, bounces houses, arts and crafts, free pool admission and more!

4. Intracoastal Kayak/Canoe Cleanup

Celebrate National Parks and Recreation Month and Plastic Free July with an Intracoastal Kayak/Canoe Cleanup on Saturday, July 27 fro 9am-12pm at the Spanish River Park Canoe Launch. Join the City of Boca Raton and clean up plastic from the intracoastal side of the barrier island. You can bring your own canoe/kayak, borrow one (supply is limited, RSVP), or join on land for a beach cleanup. Space is limited, so register online at Gumbo Limbo.

Each year the City promotes Plastic Free July -- an international campaign to raise awareness about the abundance of single-use plastics in our everyday lives and to challenge individuals to make small changes to reduce their use of single-use plastics. 5. Sugar Sand Park Saturday Funday and Tot Time, July 6

Saturday Funday - Saturday July 6 | 1:30-4:30pm
Saturday Funday is for children (ages 5-15) with autism, ADHD, and other related disabilities are welcome to Social Skills classes. Kids will be placed in groups to complete lesson plans and activities in the group. Multiple activities such as arts and crafts, creative play/drama, and yoga will help teach them how to make and maintain friendships. Materials Fee $10 per session due to instructor at the start of class. Activities are led by therapists of My Florida Therapy. 

Cost: Resident $50; Non-Resident $62.50

Tot Time - Saturday July 6 | 10am-12pm
Tot Time is a great way to keep your child (ages 1-4) active and social. Toys, costumes, bubbles, crafts, and snacks in an indoor playroom. Drop-ins are welcome at any time during the program.

Cost: $5 per child (payable at the door)

6. The Little Mermaid's Adventure, July 7

The little Mermaid's Adventure

Presented by Curtain Call Playhouse, dive into the little mermaid's enchanted life under the sea. Inspired by the original fairy tale by Hans Christian Andersen, this little mermaid goes on a brand new adventure to try to become like humans. Rated G, this Summer Children Show includes a carousel token, juice and cookies for the kids after the show.

The Little Mermaid's Adventure is on Sunday, July 7 at the Willow Theatre at Sugar Sand Park at 11am and 2pm. Adults are $8 and children 12 and under are $6. Learn more and purchase tickets at the Willow Theatre.

7. Patch Reef Park Tennis Center "Love to Learn" Program, July 9

Get your tennis journey started today! On Tuesday, July 9 from 7-8pm for new players or beginners with minimal tennis experience, Love to Learn is a 6-week play opportunity with players of equal skill and experience. Pros work with players on shot basics, point construction and rallying. Players work up to practice sessions with mentors who get participants up to speed on court etiquette, scoring, calling lines and other rules and procedures. The first session is free for you to try, so bring a friend!

That's not all that's going on at the Patch Reef Park Tennis Center this July. on Sunday, July 7 from 8:30-11:30am ($10 for members, $13 for non-members), Eat, Play, Love Tennis with some of our Wimbledon Mixed Doubles Round Robin. This includes strawberries and cream, continental breakfast and beverages. All levels are welcome! No partner? No worries -- we will help you find one. Wear your Wimbledon whites and receive a complimentary gift! On the same day from 9-11am, check out our Free Wilson Demo Day, where you can try out the latest Wilson has to offer in racquets for free!

8. Summer Reading Program "A Universe of Stories"

Have a blast reading this summer by enrolling in the Boca Raton Public Library’s Summer Reading program, “A Universe of Stories,” for all ages! Children (ages 9 and under) receive a free reading log, bag and bookmark when they enroll and can collect a new prize each week for reading. ’Tweens and teens (ages 10–17) receive a prize upon enrollment and are placed into drawings for gift cards at the end of the summer when they log their reading time online. Adults get a free book bag when they enroll and are eligible for an end-of-summer drawing for local attraction tickets when they log the books they read online. Enroll on the Boca Library website or visit the Downtown or Spanish River Library!

9. Camp Boca Summer Camp Continues

Camp Boca has  an array of camp offerings -- from specialty camps to daily field trip camps -- until August.

The Elementary Camp runs from June 10 to August 9 (pre-camp begins June 4), 7:30am to 5:30pm at the Boca Raton Community Center, Patch Reef Park, and Boca Elementary. Tween Camp is located at Don Estridge High Tech Middle School. It runs June 10 to August 2 from 7:30am to 5:30pm.

10. 21 and up? Try Boca's local brews with the Ale Trail
